Analyzing free-form text responses in surveys is a challenging task. The conventional method involves manual text coding which is not only time-consuming but also risks resulting in inconsistent codes, especially when responses are in multiple languages. Additionally, simple text analysis like word clouds only offers an overview of major expressions but lacks depth of analysis and does not correlate responses with other data variables.
Dcipher Analytics’s survey analysis workflows use Natural Language Understanding to solve these problems. Through AI-enabled topic detection techniques, we identify semantically coherent topics in the survey responses. This provides insightful narratives that reveal both the respondents' feelings towards a subject, such as a brand, and the reasons behind those feelings in a more efficient and reliable manner. This guide shows you how to do this step by step.
Typical use cases
Identify, quantify, and get summaries of topics and themes in any set of free-form text responses
Analyze the “why” question in a Net Promoter Score survey
Delivery formats and outputs
The results are delivered in the form of an Excel spreadsheet with the identified topics, their summaries, the number of responses, and a selection of representative responses for each topic.
